Does Safeway Sell Dry Ice?

Safeway sells dry ice for $1 to $3 per pound in most of its stores. Unfortunately, you can’t order it online because dry ice is usually heavy and dangerous to transport. So your best chances of getting it are at the physical stores.

You can use the online store locator to find a Safeway store near you. You’ll also find the contact information of the store there. It’s best if you call first to confirm the availability of dry ice at Safeway before heading in-store.

Does Safeway sell dry ice for low prices?

Safeway’s prices for dry ice are low. You can buy it for as low as $1. The store doesn’t display the prices on its website, so you’d have to contact the store to confirm prices.

If you find yourself at any Safeway store, visit the Customer service desk. The representatives will ring up the purchase and get the ice from their private stock area for you.

Dry ice is kept in a separate area because it’s much heavier than regular ice. So it’s hazardous to keep it where customers could get hurt in the process of moving it.

Does Safeway sell dry ice in every location?

Safeway sells dry ice in most locations. That means some stores may not sell it. The store also doesn’t sell dry ice through third-party delivery services like Instacart or Shipt since it’s unsafe to transport and requires special handling.

Some Safeway stores may agree to deliver dry ice to you if you request it ahead of time. For example, if you need it for an event on Saturday, you can order it a day before. This will allow the store to prepare the ice for transport.

However, the chances of getting a Safeway store to deliver dry ice for you are low. Alternatively, you can purchase bags of ice from Safeway. They sell brands like Reddy Ice and Refresh Ice for $3.99. They’re available for curbside pickup and home delivery.
